Sometimes an Image Just Says it All…

February 26th, 2010

I’ve been fixated on this wheat paste stencil from Beijing’s Xinjiekou Nandajie, originally posted at NeochaEDGE (artist as of yet unknown) which to me captured recent sentiments on a shifting US-China relationship rather perfectly…. without all the punditry. What do you think?

Be sure to jump over to the excellent bilingual website, edge.neocha.com for more. And, if you’ve seen an American take on US-China relations in art, please tip me off in the comments section.

I might be a little slow this morning but I am not getting the message of the US flag noodles.

    Hello Aimee,

I’m the chief editor of NeochaEDGE. Thanks so much for cross-posting our content and putting us on your blogroll. Very cool of you. We hope you continue to enjoy the site. Let us know if you have any suggestions or recommendations. You have a great blog…I’ll be back for more soon!

Oh, also, just FYI, our url is EDGE.Neocha.com (or for Chinese, EDGE.Neocha.com/zh), not NeochaEDGE.com, and, we don’t just post on street art, we also showcase different creative genres from emerging Chinese artists (e.g. animation, illustration, music, photography, design, etc.)

    Thanks!

China has a little too much pride currently. They’ve got some super serious problems too and they’re getting a bit ahead of themselves.
